Mark A. Palumbo, M.D. is an attending orthopaedic surgeon at Rhode Island Hospital. He is also an Associate professor of orthopaedic surgery at Brown Medical School.

Dr. Palumbo specializes in reconstructive and trauma surgery for the adult spine with special expertise in the operative treatment of cervical spine disorders. He performs a variety of surgical procedures on the neck and back that are directed at relieving compression of the neurologic structures. Dr. Palumbo also reconstructs parts of the spine to eliminate spinal column instability and deformity. His research interests include arthritis of the cervical spine, spinal stenosis and neck injuries in the athlete.

He is board certified by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a fellow member of the American Medical Association and the Rhode Island Orthopedic Society.
